"90210" actor Luke Perry will be starring in and executive producing the faith-based film entitled "Welcome Home," which tells the story of a successful writer who comes home from a vacation only to find out that a homeless mother and her two children have been squatting in his house with nowhere else to go.

The film is directed by James Head, who worked on "R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour" and "The Dead Zone," while the script was written by Jonathan Zeichner. It will air exclusively on UP this year, according to Breathe Cast.

Aside from Perry, other cast members include Camille Sullivan, Will Verchere-Gopaulsingh, Kayden Magnuson, Erica Cerra, and Susan Hogan.

Perry starred as Dylan McKay in the television series "90210" from 1990 to 1995, then again from 1998 to 2000.

This time though Perry will star as Stewart Paylor, a highly successful author who now suffers from writer's block following his bestselling debut novel. He promises his literary agent and girlfriend Cynthia (played by Erica Cerra) that he is already writing his next big novel, but the truth is, Paylor hasn't written a single word yet.

When he returns home from a vacation, however, his life turns even more topsy turvy when he finds homeless mother Cassandra (played by Camille Sullivan) and her two children — 12-year-old Jake (Will Verchere-Gopaulsingh) and nine-year-old Vera (Kayden Magnuson) — had been living in his house while he was away. Paylor is now confronted with a moral dilemma: Will he help the struggling family or will he simply close his doors on them?

"The UP premiere movie 'Welcome Home' is a very relevant and touching story about a normal middle class family that ends up homeless," said Barbara Fisher, UP's senior vice president for original programming. "Starring and executive produced by Luke Perry, the film captures the spirit of the old adage 'charity begins at home,' as one man unexpectedly comes face-to-face with a family in crisis, reeling from crushing medical debt and home foreclosure."
