A 'Crash Bandicoot' 2019 game and more may have been planned for the next 5 years

The "Crash Bandicoot" game series is one that many gamers today treasure having, being one of the most popular games back in the 90s. Recently, the games have been brought back to life with a PlayStation 4 (PS4) exclusive compilation. It looks like the people behind the popular series are also planning to continue developing more new games for the next five years.

The plans for the future of the series was first revealed, or maybe leaked, in the spring edition of a licensing trade publication called "Licensing Book Europe," per Resetera. "The new game ["N. Sane Trilogy"] was a huge success at retail with no marketing spend," reads the publication as written by licensing manager Max Arguile.

"Next year it will be going broader (Switch and PC) and there will be another game in 2019. Activision has a five-year plan for this and GB Eye is delighted to be fully on board for all products." From this, there are two things that fans can get. First is that there will be games for the Nintendo Switch and PC. Second is that the next game will apparently come next year, 2019.

To give more context and possibly more authenticity to the excerpt, GB Eye is a merchandising company. For them to have partnered with Activision, the publishers of the "N. Sane Trilogy," it would make sense for them to have ideas of how the company would go further with the game's future.

"Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy" is actually the number one top-selling remastered collection for the PS4 in its history. Currently, it still ranks in the top 10-selling PS4 games. That said, it would not be a surprise for the collection to be ported to either or both the Switch and PC in the case that that is what the excerpt means.

Although all this does seem convincing, Activision has not confirmed any of this yet. Some Reddit users also noted that "N. Sane Trilogy" is currently PS4 exclusive but was apparently not listed by Sony as an exclusive.
