Acer has just released its Chromebook 15, which is a 15-inch laptop that runs on Chrome OS. It can operate run up to 12 hours on batteries before it requires to be plugged into an outlet. It is an exclusive offer from Walmart for only $199.

Acer and Walmart have teamed up to offer the lowest-priced Chromebook available in the market today. The Chromebook 15, with model number CB3-532-C47C, contains a dual-core Intel Celeron N3060 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16 GB internal storage, ZDNet reported.

The super affordable laptop offers 15.6-inch LED-backlit display screen that brings in a high definition (1366 x 768) resolution. It also comes with an anti-glare property to lessen the user's eyestrain. With the given resolution, it also means that things will be displayed bigger, which is great for watching locally stored or streamed videos, as well as surfing the internet. However, this will not give an extra room to do anything more on the screen.

A built-in SD card reader also comes with the device to expand its internal storage, as well as a 100 GB online storage, via Google Drive. It is also equipped with dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless connections, while it features two USB 3.0 and HDMI ports for wired connections. Another nice thing that Acer added is the LED backlit-equipped keyboard, which is useful in areas that lack the proper lighting.

According to 9 To 5 Google, the Acer Chromebook 15 measures 15.08 w x 10.08 d x 0.95 h inches (383 w x 256 d x 24.2 h mm) and weighs about 4.3 pounds or 1.95 kg. The company claims that their laptop could tolerate drops from the height of around two feet.

It runs on Chrome OS, which means that it works similar to an Android smartphone. It does not have Microsoft Office, nor will it run the Windows operating system. However, this is a potential bargain for those who are familiar with Google's desktop operating system that enjoys them. It is also a great option as a holiday gift for those who do not mind having a non-Windows laptop.

The latest Acer Chromebook 15 is available for $199 at Walmart.
