Acer Predator 6, Predator 8 specs: New gaming mobile devices

The Predator 8 dedicated gaming tablet from Acer.acer.com/predator

Acer is expanding its Aspire Predator gaming device line-up before the end of the year.

During its press conference at the IFA 2015 convention in Berlin, Germany Wednesday, Acer revealed that two new mobile devices under the Predator gaming product line will be released. One of them is the Predator 8 tablet, while the other one is the Predator 6 smartphone.

The Predator 8 is the company's first dedicated gaming tablet device that comes with the groundbreaking Predator Quadio sound feature. This allows the tablet to give the optimum surround sound experience with its four front-facing speakers with the Predator TacSense tactile feedback.

With 8-inch FHD display with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution, gamers can easily take their favorite games anywhere they go without having to worry about compromising the graphics. And since the slate is only 8.7 mm thin and weighs only 350 grams, it can be comfortably taken wherever the gamer wants to go.

Under the hood, the Predator 8 comes with an impressive Intel Atom X7-Z8700 processor, 2 GB of RAM, and either 32 GB or 64 GB internal memory onboard. However, Acer has yet to announce if the slate is going to be released with a built-in memory expansion slot.

Meanwhile, the tech firm also unveiled another impressive mobile gaming device called the Predator 6 Android-powered smartphone. The revolutionary phablet will be powered with a deca-core MediaTek processor, which is believed to be the Helio X20. It will also have at least 4 GB of RAM.

While the screen resolution has yet to be revealed, the 6-inch capacitive touchscreen display assures Android users that they can enjoy playing games in their clearest form.

Aside from its gaming-dedicated specs, the upcoming smartphone will also have an impressive 21-megapixel primary camera that will come with LED flash and auto-focus capability.

But while Acer already revealed that the Predator 8 tablet will be released in North America on Nov. 6 with a $299.99 price tag, the release date and price of the Predator 6 smartphone is still undisclosed.
