During Computex 2015, Taiwanese company Acer unveiled its Predator 8 gaming tablet in order to tap in to the Android gaming tablet market. Judging from the name, the slate features an 8 inch screen size but the resolution details were not provided by the company. However, what was provided was information concerning the 'system on a chip' that would be responsible for handling all the core and secondary tasks of the Android gaming tablet. Intel Atom x7 will be powering up the device, which is the first time an Android product has seen this particular chipset present in it.

Intel Atom x7 has been processed on the company's 14 nm process, giving the mobile chipset an edge in terms of both performance and energy efficiency. Inside the SoC is a 64 bit processor running at a base clock frequency of 1.6 GHz. In demanding applications and tasks, the clock speed will be increased to 2.3 GHz, which is more specifically referred to as Burst Mode. Intel has not stated if all the four cores will be able to increase their clock speed or only two of them when Burst Mode kicks in.

Regardless, a 16 core eight generation Intel HD Graphics GPU is present inside the chipset, which should provide above par performance in visually impressive Android gaming applications. Intel x7 is present in Lenovo ThinkPad 10, and Surface 3, so consumers have a fair idea of how the product is going to perform when it has been stressed.

Apart from debriefing the crowd present at the event as to which chipset is present in the Android gaming tablet, Acer did not care to divulge any additional information. While the company has not stated the amount of RAM that is going to be present in Acer Predator 8, it can be speculated that 4 GB will be incorporated in order to deliver a smoothened out experience for both mobile gamers and casual users.

Price and availability details were not stated by Acer either. However, the tablet is slated to be launched during the winter season, so whatever details that the company left out can be found out during this period.
