Although they have decided to separate, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are proving that they have their children's best interests at heart. This week, Affleck headed to Atlanta to look after the kids while Garner works on her new film.

In a joint statement released last week, the couple announced their decision to divorce after 10 years together. After their announcement, the pair flew to the Bahamas with their children Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Sam, 3, to ride out the split news in a more peaceful and private setting.

After their brief vacation, Garner flew to Atlanta with their children to work on her latest film, "Miracles From Heaven," while Affleck joined them on Tuesday, July 7, after a brief sojourn to Los Angeles for a business meeting.

A source told Us Weekly that Affleck is doing some work in Atlanta as well, but he's mostly in the area to look after the children while Garner works. The actress has reportedly rented a house in the area, and Affleck is staying with them at a guest house located within the property.

Another source told People magazine that the actress is taking special care of the kids to help them through this difficult time.

"She's such a good mom and she's honest with them — she's not sugarcoating this," said the insider.

While the ex-couple never divulged the reason for their split, allegations of infidelity and other inappropriate behavior on Affleck's part reportedly took their toll on the union. Affleck's reps have yet to comment on the reports.

Construction has been ongoing in Garner and Affleck L.A. home at the moment, as it was reported that the pair will continue to live in the same property but Affleck will be in a different house. The actor is due in San Diego, California for an appearance at the Comic-Con with the "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" cast later this week.
