After Pastor Perry Noble was fired from NewSpring Church because of his alcohol dependency, a Christian publishing house decided to shelve his new book entitled "11 1/2 Questions To Help You Date Without Regret" and release it at a better time.

Publicist Margie Watterson, spokeswoman for Tyndale House Publishers, tells The State that Noble's book is currently on "unscheduled status" even after it was scheduled for release on Sept. 27.

"We plan to review this status at a future date and then evaluate the viability of releasing this book at another time," she says.

As for the date of evaluation, no schedule has been set. However, Noble's other books such as "Overwhelmed," Unleash!" and "The Most Excellent Way to Lead," will remain available for purchase on the company's website.

Noble already made a public apology after he was fired. He encouraged congregants to continue going to church despite his absence, and he is thankful for all the support he has received.

"I want to say to everyone at NewSpring Church that I am sorry that I allowed a dependency on alcohol — I ran to it rather than to Jesus for my comfort, and that was wrong and I am sorry. I am going to do whatever it takes to make it right," he says in the video posted on his Facebook page.

"I am checking into a treatment facility, and I am going to work with some excellent people who are really going to help me take my next steps. I am serious about fighting for my wife and my daughter, and I am serious about following Jesus," he continues.

For the time being, Perry has been replaced by Senior Pastor Clayton King, the leader of Crossroads Worldwide ministry. Perry has expressed support for King's appointment, saying "he is a great man of God. He is a godly father, he is a godly husband."
