ABC's "Agent Carter" won't be returning until next year, and while not too many details have been released for the show's second season, it was announced last week that James D'Arcy and Enver Gjokaj will be returning to reprise their roles as Edwin Jarvis and Daniel Sousa, respectively.

In a brand new interview with Den of Geek, actress Hayley Atwell talked about season 2 and where her character Peggy Carter might be headed this time around, and she also appeared to confirm the appearance of a major character in upcoming episodes. 

Atwell said that they haven't started filming yet, but episodes are being written. She revealed that there will be a time jump and season 2 will start one year after the events in the season 1 finale. 

"I do know that, one thing they have decided, is that it's going to be set a year later," she told Den of Geek. "So it's 1947, it's going to be set in L.A., and I keep on thinking about L.A. Confidential, that kind of film noir, that would be great." 

Atwell revealed that there will be a new romantic interest for Peggy, and that Jarvis and Howard Stark "will be there with us again." 

Atwell did not mention whether Dominic Cooper, who played Howard Stark, will be part of the main cast or will be a recurring player in the show. In addition to "Agent Carter," Cooper also played the role in 2011's "Captain America: The First Avenger." 

The actress also said that while her character was able to earn the respect of her male colleagues in season 1, she will have to start over again and do the same thing since she has been uprooted to somewhere else. 

"I don't think it's the end for her, in terms of the struggles working in a male-dominated environment back in the forties. I think that's going to be an ongoing thing," Atwell said. 

"Agent Carter" returns for its second season in 2016 on ABC.
