'Agents of SHIELD' season 3 spoilers: Ward moves on from Skye in new episodes

Skye and Ward have no time for love in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3. ABC/Marvel

Skye/Daisy (Chloe Bennet) and Ward (Brett Dalton) will not be back together in the upcoming season of ABC series, Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Supporters of the power couple will be disappointed to know that the writers will not be focusing on the said romance in season 3. Apparently, Skye and Ward will be too busy dealing with their new "projects" and will have no time for love. Executive producer Jeff Bell revealed the sad news to TV Line, stating that relationship is not part of the two's priorities at the moment.

"Ward fell for Agent 33 (Maya Stojan) last year, and after Daisy had put a couple bullets in him, it sure felt to me like he'd moved on. Anything is possible. He is less interested in snuggling with Skye than in getting payback for what happened to Kara."

What the executive producer was trying to explain is that Ward will be entirely focused on rebuilding the Hydra. As for Skye, she would also be preoccupied with her transformation as Daisy, as well as her new position as team leader. In season 3, she would be helping Coulson (Clark Gregg) put together the Secret Warriors.

In an interview with Spoiler TV, Gregg opened up about his character's complete trust in Skye and her capabilities to lead.

"Certainly, there is nobody that Coulson trusts more than Skye at this point and setting up Secret Warriors is the number one task of this season. I think he would be comfortable giving her any responsibility that he would give himself," Gregg said.

This new bond with Coulson would be another one of the reasons why a relationship between Sky and Ward would not be possible. Ward apparently has a grudge against the senior agent, as he holds him responsible for his two failed relationships, with Skye and with Agent 33. Dalton explained to Comic Vine why his character was really pissed with Coulson.

"If it weren't for S.H.I.E.L.D. meddling in all his affairs, he'd be a much happier man. So there's an axe to grind."

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 will premiere on Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
