In the past, the films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe were the main narrative and television shows like "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." focused on the events that followed. This time around, however, it is explained by actor Clark Gregg that this will be a case where the television series will build up the story and events while the films serve as a climax or finale.

"With the Inhuman outbreak, you have people with powers suddenly all over the place," the actor stated. "And there are those who feel that people who evolve differently need to be eradicated. And there are those who remember that those people are also humans. And there are divisions among those people."

This conflict between those who are against and those who are supportive of Inhumans will lead to the events of "Captain America: Civil War," which focuses on the government trying to control people with super powers, such as the members of the Avengers team.

It is this conflict of idealogy that will lead Captain America (Chris Evans) to break away from the Avengers and fight for the freedom of super-powered individuals. Unfortunately, Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) sides with the government, most likely due to his own faults such as the creation of Ultron (James Spader), making him believe superpowered beings like the Inhumans need to be regulated.

However, it is important to note that major crossovers in the plot may not be so apparent. Not everyone who watches the movies may have been watching "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." or the Netflix series such as "Daredevil," therefore the films will not be relying too much on any connections to the television series.

"Agents of SHIELD" season 3B will premiere this coming March 8.
