With less than two months before its fifth season kicks off, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" announces it will be joined by an additional cast — Kree Assassin Sals-Bek — a little known character from the Marvel Comics.

Sals-Bek has had only one appearance in the books, in the episode titled  "Inhumans: The Great Refuge," which was released in 1995. He was among a trio of elite Kree assassins tasked to kill the Inhuman Royal Family, who were then on a self-imposed exile on Earth.

His arrival on the show opens up possibilities of an "Inhumans" crossover, considering that the series shows Black Bolt (Anson Mount) and his family currently in the same situation as they were in "The Great Refuge."

While Sals-Bek's role remains unclear, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." revealed to That Hashtag Show that they are currently in search for a stunt actor to play the role, which will appear in two episodes.

The Kree hitman poses more problems for the agents, who are currently trapped in space. Spoiler alert to those who have not seen it yet, the season 4 finale ended with the crew being kidnapped by mysterious individuals and were taken into outer space.

Very few details have been revealed about the upcoming season. However, fans could rest well on the assurance that their favorite agents — Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson), Ming-Na Wen (Melinda May), Chloe Bennet (Daisy 'Quake' Johnson), Iain de Caestecker (Leo Fitz), Elizabeth Henstridge (Jemma Simmons), Henry Simmons (Alphonso 'Mack' Mackenzie), and Natalia Cordova-Buckley (Elena 'Yo-Yo' Rodriguez) — are all coming back.

Upon the series' renewal, ABC said in its official announcement that season 5 will be its "strongest season yet. "We're so proud of the way that Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has grown creatively every season. The series is a top performer for us especially in delayed viewing where we see almost triple-digit increases," added ABC President Channing Dungey.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" season 5 will kick off on a two-hour premiere on Friday, Dec. 1, at 8 p.m. EDT. It will air at its regular time of 9 p.m. EDT beginning Dec. 8.
