In the upcoming ABC television series "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 5, fans are about to see Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), Daisy "Skye" Johnson (Chloe Bennet), Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), and Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) in space. The group is going to investigate the Marvel Cinematic Universe's cosmic side.

At the recent New York Comic-Con 2017, the Marvel television show's lead star, Gregg, talked about the series' upcoming changes when it comes to its settings. The 55-year-old star compared their show's new surrounding to the classic TV program, "Startrek," and said that it will bridge into "the sci-fi and cosmic part of the MCU."

"[It] will be surprising to people, it's really thrilling," he said about "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 5 at the event via Screen Rant. At the first 20 minutes of the show's premiere episode, there will be two kinds of aliens that will be introduced. Fans, too, can expect to see more extraterrestrial creatures as the series rolls.

There will be also a new character coming that looks like the Star-Lord from the "Guardians of the Galaxy." However, ABC has yet to confirm the fifth season's connection to other Marvel Studios' cosmic-themed films.

Meanwhile, as "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 5 will be set in a new world, there will be new faces Coulson and the gang are about to meet. Marvel recently revealed the four new faces that will be joining the much-loved agents.

Viewers will now see Jeff Ward as Deke in the coming new installment of the Marvel television series. His role will be best known as a survivor and a shameless grubber. The second one is Eve Harlow as Tess. She is a creative young woman that strongly believes in the goodness of the people around her and a better future coming for everyone.

The third one is Coy Stewart as Flint, a young man who is forced to get matured quickly because of the environment he is into. Lastly, Pruitt Taylor will be joining "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 5 as Grill. He is a "gruff taskmaster," who uses his abilities in brutal but very effective ways.

The first episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 5 will be a two-hour special airing on Friday, Dec. 1, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
