"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." has been developing the character of Agent Skye (Chloe Bennet) as she has been revealed to be Daisy Johnson aka Quake. Season 2 saw her gain the ability to control seismic vibrations and she was officially labeled as an Inhuman. Season 3 will see Skye embrace this new life, and with that comes a new look.

Quake in the comics, a character who rises up the ranks to have the same authority as Black Widow and Nick Fury himself, has short hair. A recent photo posted by Bennet via Instagram reveals that she has taken the step to look more like the character from the comic book source materials.

Bennet's cut isn't as rigid or as short as Quake's in the comics but this decision was intentional so that the actress can still convey movement and personality with her locks.

"The comic book version of Daisy Johnson has very short, Miley Cyrus-esque hair," the actress stated in a report from People. "We wanted to stay true to the comic book character fans love; I wanted to please them but also make sure there was still some movement and length and sexiness in the hair."

Bennet also expressed anxiety issues and some difficulty in cutting her long tresses. The studios decided to cut her real hair instead of going with a wig, and after some time, the actress stated that she has gotten used to her new look.

"I'm in love with it," Bennet said. "And I think for the character, it is going to be awesome."

Daisy Johnson was approached by Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) during the finale of season 2 to form and lead a group of Inhumans that S.H.I.E.L.D. will address as the Secret Warriors. Quake will be the first in the group and they will need to form up quickly as season 3 sees rival groups and antagonists such as Hydra form their own set of Inhuman soldiers.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 premieres this Sept. 29.
