Season 3 of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is going to premiere on Sept. 29, as posted on Marvel's news page. The entire main cast is making a return and recurring stars Henry Simmons and Luke Mitchell have been upgraded to series regulars.

The last film in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is "The Inhumans" and the television series is slowly introducing the players that may appear in that future film. Season 3 is rumored to focus on building a team of Inhumans with Skye (Chloe Bennett) as their leader since she is a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and is the first Inhuman viewers got to meet.

It was also revealed in the season 2 finale that Skye is the show's version of Daisy Johnson a.k.a. Quake and Skye is simply her nickname. This automatically had many fans assuming that the "Secret Warriors" would become the focus of the next season.

According to a report from ComicBook.com, this group is going to be called "Caterpillars" instead of the fan-speculated "Secret Warriors" that the Inhuman agents are referred to in the Marvel comics. S.H.I.E.L.D. director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) will use the team to help rebuild the organization and get the agency back on track with their fight against Hydra.

Season 2 also ended with Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) getting sucked up and devoured by the Kree weapon and her fate is still unknown. With the whole cast returning, it is likely she is still alive but at what state is still a mystery. Fans speculate that she may return with new powers, turning her into an Inhuman as well.

Agent May (Ming-Na Wen) also left S.H.I.E.L.D. temporarily so there may be an episode or two where Coulson will have to send Skye or the other agents to bring her back to the team.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." premieres on Sept. 29 while "Agent Carter" season 2 will premiere during the former's mid-season break.
