One of Alcatel's newest products will be the Xess tablet, and one of its defining features will be its enormous 17.3-inch display.

The display is one of the tablet's main selling points, and Alcatel has also equipped it with a few other features to make it more desirable for consumers.

Intentional or not, Alcatel's Xess tablet certainly resembles a portable television, and its full HD display figures to make it a more than capable tool for viewing. The Xess tablet also features up to 10 different points of touch interaction, according to Digital Trends.

The new tablet even features a digital whiteboard to be used around the home to make notes and reminders about things to do throughout the day.

Helping to make Alcatel's Xess tablet a more capable entertainment tool is the placement of two JBL speakers at its back. Each one has a three watt output, enabling it to produce highly-audible sounds during marathon viewing sessions.

Another unique feature of the Xess tablet is a peculiar metal frame affixed to its back. The circular frame actually serves two different purposes. First, it gives the owner a handle they can use to carry the tablet all around the house or even outside if they prefer. Its other purpose is to provide the users with a kind of stand they can utilize to lean the device at different angles to get a better view of its large display.

Other features of the Xess tablet include a stylus people can use for easier navigation and two USB ports that pop out of the device's rear frame.

According to The Verge, there are some clear drawbacks to the Xess tablet, with the most notable one being its tendency to lag because of its processor and only 2 GB of RAM.

As of now, Alcatel has indicated that the Xess is not yet a finished product, meaning changes big and small could still be implemented before it is eventually launched.
