The "Alien" franchise will be taking players for another thrilling hide and seek horror with Xenomorphs, as a new video game adaptation is currently being planned by none other than Fox.

Fox, with its own production team FoxNext, is now taking the helm of the next "Alien" game. FoxNext is still relatively new to the market and is set as the video game branch of Fox. As such, it will be employing the help of another development team called Cold Iron Studios. This studio has reportedly worked on games like "Doom," "Borderlands," "BioShock Infinite," and more, meaning the game might be in good hands.

It has not been specified which type of first-person shooter (FPS) experience the game will be though. It remains to be seen whether it will take after the survival horror format of "Alien: Isolation" back in 2014 or follow suit in the action and gunfight-oriented "Aliens: Colonial Marines." Being an FPS game though, there is a strong possibility that it will have an online component.

One thing is certain though, FoxNext is confident that Cold Iron Studios will be able to do the franchise justice and produce an excellent "Alien" game.

"Cold Iron adds a whole dimension of game development and play to our arsenal: long play-session MMOs targeted to PC and console gamers. The kinds of games Cold Iron develops will enable us to deeply explore the worlds of our franchises, starting with the Alien universe," said Aaron Loeb of FoxNext.

However, fans of "Alien: Isolation" might get disappointed to know that the chances of the developers replicating the same format and success of that game are rather slim. Apparently, FoxNext has its own licensing camp now, and it has distanced itself from developers like Creative Assembly, who was responsible for the success of "Isolation."

No release date has been announced yet, but fans may soon see a glimpse of what the new "Alien" game might be like once production progresses.
