Things are getting more and more complicated for the friendly neighborhood web-slinging superhero. Word on the street is that Andrew Garfield will be kicked out of "The Amazing Spider-Man" franchise after having done the first two films of the supposed trilogy. He will reportedly be compelled to leave the superhero duties and his iconic blue-red uniform to another who had portrayed the role three times before — Tobey Maguire.

Reports emerged in the wake of the recent Sony hack, wherein supposed email conversations inside of Sony were leaked. Celeb Beat reported that Marvel is stepping up to the production of the franchise and the gigantic company wants another actor swinging between skyscrapers as Peter Parker, making the upcoming projects non-canonical. The site also said that Spider-Man's purported participation in the upcoming superhero movie "Captain America: Civil War" requires Garfield's exit.

Furthermore, Venture Post reported that "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" won't be out until 2018, so that is roughly more than three long years from now. There will be plenty of thoughts and fickle-mindedness that will come about for sure. This includes the finalization of the cast. But having Garfield leave proves way too much for fans this early, who are still recovering from the downfall of Peter Parker's love, Gwen Stacy.

Since news about the 31-year-old actor getting sacked broke out, fans have already been very busy petitioning for his return. Media outlets also mentioned that the actor received gracious reviews from critics, and fans loved his performance as the smart/ smug superhero so that may be the game-changer here. However, for Marvel and Sony, it is an entirely different story.

Interestingly, Garfield's girlfriend, Emma Stone, who played Spidey's now-fallen love, is the one pitted to return. KDrama Stars believes that she will appear as some kind of a clone or maybe a non-canonical Mary Jane Watson, who is set to be introduced in the upcoming movie. The site also mentioned potential actors that are deemed capable to do the job in place of Garfield.

Ansel Elgort, who made a big splash in the industry this year with movie adaptations of bestselling novels "Divergent" and "The Fault in our Stars," may just be the one to net the big bucks for the film. As KDrama Stars pointed out, "The Amazing Spider-Man" franchise is $1,035,147,638 away from matching Sam Raimi's "Spiderman" franchise which Maguire starred in. On the other hand, Drake Bell, who lent his voice to the superhero in the "Ultimate Spiderman," may finally get the chance to render a performance in front of the camera.
