"Top Gear," the show that featured Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, was arguably among the most popular programs that mainly focused on cars.

Unfortunately for its fans, unique circumstances led to the "Top Gear" they knew being nixed, and in its place will be a revamped version of the show that features new hosts.

While the revamped version of "Top Gear" that will air on BBC may still be capable of delivering the quality experience that fans have grown to love, there are still those who are looking to hear the insightful and often comedic takes of the Clarkson, Hammond and May triumvirate, and for those folks, they now have a new program to look forward to.

Thankfully for those fans who still want to see more of the Clarkson, Hammond and May trio, they can now look forward to the new show airing on Amazon Prime that will be reminiscent of "Top Gear."

According to Digital Spy, there is still no firm release date for the new show, though it is expected to premiere some time in 2016. As of now, the belief is that the new automobile program will be airing some time in the fall.

In addition, the hosts have reportedly signed on to do three seasons of the new show, with each one composed of 12 60-minute episodes.

Unfortunately for some long-time fans, the version of "Top Gear" airing on Amazon Prime will not be exactly the same as the old program.

Since some segments of the old "Top Gear" show are properties of BBC, those cannot be used in the new program, Crossmap reported. Sadly, this could mean that The Stig will not be appearing in the Amazon Prime offering.

The upcoming Amazon Prime show is also expected to have a different name, with "Gear Knobs" reportedly being a possibility.

For now, fans have no other choice than to patiently wait for more details regarding the new Amazon Prime version of "Top Gear," or whichever name the program may eventually be given.
