"The Grand Tour," a new motoring program released in partnership with Amazon, has 36 planned episodes that will run over three years. The first batch of this show is slated to be released this coming fall, with a premiere date in September.

Basically, this show is somewhat like "Top Gear" but not exactly as people have known it. After all, Jeremy Clarkson and almost everyone from the old team have left "Top Gear," with the show now being led by Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc. However, since this show launched with the new hosts, its ratings have gone down and have been negative ever since.

Clarkson and his team in "The Grand Tour," however, could certainly look forward to a huge following, since a lot of the fans they had in "Top Gear" might very well tune in to this new show. Furthermore, when "The Grand Tour" was first announced, it was revealed that the show will be filmed on location across the globe along with a live studio audience.

As for their starting point, Alphr reports that this show's Facebook page has revealed that their show will kick off in the city of Johannesburg, in South Africa. With this, tickets will be released through prize draw around summer this year. The mechanics for this are still unclear though, but it could be possible that "The Grand Tour" mailing list is involved.

At this point in time, it's hotly debated whether or not "The Grand Tour" will be able to beat Netflix's "Top Gear" show. After all, signing in Clarkson along with Hammond and May means that Amazon is adding more attractive content to its already impressive line of shows. Some fans even believe that it's possible that Amazon Prime might just be able to beat Netflix in terms of subscriptions if they're able to throw in great value.
