Amd Radeon RX 490 release date, specs: can it compete against against NVIDIA cards?

 AMD, NVidia, GPUguide.com

With the launch of its RX  series of graphics cards that are even capable of capturing the Virtual Reality experience, experts believe AMD is making a comeback as a top notch company in the field of game graphics. Although its products had been overshadowed by rival tech giants in recent years, the provider of graphics solutions is expected sail more smoothly with its new generation of products.

Latest in the series, the AMD Radeon RX 490, which is a 4-K focused GPU based on the new generation Polaris architecture has been eagerly awaited by hardcore gamers. While it almost surely seems to be  set to release this year, some experts estimate it to hit markets some where around mid November, 2016.

The card is expected to compete with the Nvidia GTX 1080, which is really tough competition to say the least and it remains to be seen how AMD prices this GPU. From the looks of it techies believe that it going to be pricy since the name itself indicates the thing to be designed for tier 9 gaming aiming at a 4K gaming experience.

Now, how they are aiming to do this has fascinated many indutry experts. There are professionals who believe that Polaris 10 chip alone will not sufficiently handle the specs this product is aiming at.  So, there are many who believe that AMD might put a dual GPU card to use, as they have been doing in the past.

Meanwhile, some sources also claim that the information about a prospective Radeon RX 490 is not something that AMD want to reveal as of now. This is seemingly hinted at from the fact that after having a listing for the graphics card up on their site beside the RX 490 the company later allegedly removed the listing. So what does that really mean? Does it mean that the graphics card has been taken off the menu or does AMD want to keep it in the closet a bit longer?
