The latest episode of "American Horror Story: Cult" brought on a big plot twist as well as a messed up backstory for one of its characters. Spoilers ahead for the latest episode.

Some of the questions that the fans have had may have been answered in the show's latest episode which just aired. The episode, titled "Holes," revealed whether or not Ivy (Alison Pill) is actually part of the cult and is working against Ally (Sarah Paulson), and perhaps the most shocking of all being Kai's (Evan Peters) familial connection to Dr. Rudy Vincent (Cheyenne Jackson), who turns out to be his older brother.

Beverly (Adine Porter) demanded to know about Kai's backstory, Kai told her about what happened to his parents. It was revealed that his father was a successful lawyer, and a motorcycle accident left him paralyzed from the waist down and in a wheelchair. This situation naturally did not sit well with his father, and so he started to lash out on Kai and his mother, even going so far as accusing her of cheating on him.

Kai's mother had eventually gotten fed up. She snapped and shot his father while he was in the house. Kai discovered his father bleeding to death and was the witness to his mother's suicide. She had shot herself in the head. Kai called his brother for help and Vincent came in with a plan. The two brothers would cover their parents' bodies in lye in order to preserve them and stop the scent of decaying bodies from getting into the house.

Kai was against his brother's decision, but Vincent pointed out that reporting the death of their parents would mean paying a death tax and would take a big portion out of the settlement their father received after the accident.

This all happened three years before what is currently happening in "American Horror Story: Cult." Even though a connection is now established between the two, there are still more questions left, such as Vincent's real name and why he changed it. Plus, Vincent may actually be the big villain of this series, but that has yet to be determined.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Evan Peters talked about the big plot twist that happened in the latest episode as well as the very horrific scene with the nail gun.

Peters revealed that the plot twist did not surprise him. He knew that Dr. Vincent was Kai's older brother going in. He went on to share about Kai's relationship with Beverly, who is becoming a lot more power hungry as the season goes on. "I want it to be equal power but then years of oppression. It's interesting seeing that relationship unfold and I don't think you'll be disappointed as the season goes on," stated Peters.

When it came to the scene where Kai has his followers shoot another one of their own with a nail gun, Peters said that it was an intense scene to film. He went on to say that everyone had to be upset about killing their friend. The makeup department did a good job and made it very life-like.

Peters explained that there are certain scenes when he is playing Kai that can be very difficult to film, such as the flashback sequences. There are also scenes where it was difficult for everyone else but it was easy for him to film because the character was enjoying it.

"American Horror Story: Cult" airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EDT on FX.
