In the next episode of "American Horror Story: Cult," Kai Anderson (Evan Peters) ramps up his fear tactics to become the town's councilman.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Mid-Western Assassin" was just released, which showed Kai in a town hall meeting campaigning for councilman and convincing the people that the town is being tormented by ruthless killers disguised as clowns. "The monsters are here!" he exclaims. However, a town constituent answers him in return, "You are just trying to make these people scared." It seems that this town hall member, who is played by actress Mare Winningham, may know what Kai is up to but gets her life threatened by the killer clowns in a later scene.

Kai apparently is the leader of the cult of killer clowns. He holds a meeting and summons the troubled people that he recruited. "The sheep are afraid," he tells the group. Some in his group are evidently afraid that they might end up in jail after their series of murders. Ivy Mayfair-Richards (Alison Pill) is one of them and she expresses her fear to Kai's sister Winter (Billie Lourd).

In the last episode, Kai killed off his members who were starting to doubt his cause and getting second thoughts. He had R.J. (James Morosini) eliminated because he was starting to get scared of the repercussions of their murders. R.J.'s fellow cult members shot nails into his head with a nail gun. The doubting member died an excruciating death while everyone looked on.

In addition, cult member Meadow Wilton (Leslie Grossman) was seemingly killed and buried by her husband Harrison and Detective Jack Samuels (Colton Haynes). She also had expressed doubts herself about Kai's demented cause.

"American Horror Story: Cult" season 7 episode 6 will air on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 10 p.m. EDT on FX.
