Amir Khan is at it again, criticizing Floyd Mayweather Jr. and laying claim that the undefeated American boxer is simply afraid to be beaten by him, which is the reason why he opted to face a less-heralded fighter in Andre Berto.

To recall a bit, Mayweather has chosen Berto as his would-be final opponent this coming Sept. 12 as he goes for the historic 49th win, which will place him alongside boxing legend Rocky Marciano.

Khan was the leading favorite in what would have been a proper send-off for the undefeated American fighter. But in a sudden twist, Mayweather shunned Khan once more reportedly because of his continuous public criticism of Mayweather.

In an interview with MMAFighting.com, the Briton fighter claims that he holds the secret to derailing Mayweather and that he could hand him his first career defeat. Furthermore, he plays on the belief that Mayweather's decision is based on business logic.

On whether or not that claim will hold up or not may never be known, although Khan joins a lot of people who are not buying the fact that Mayweather is entering the ring for the final time this September. He shares the same belief that Mayweather will continue to fight in 2016, although it is no assurance that he can get another shot at the flamboyant one.

Looking ahead, Khan could be facing someone better, a boxing great that is no stranger to him. This is none other than his former sparring mate and friend Manny Pacquiao, whom he likewise claims he could beat.

While Pacquiao is still on the recovery stages, there is a big chance that the two fighters could eventually face off in 2016. The earliest that Pacquiao can return to the ring is the first quarter of next year, although it remains to be seen if Khan would be his immediate opponent.

Both camps will likely hold follow-up talks after meeting earlier this year for a possible fight, moments before the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight materialized.
