Amy Grant raises funds for women's cancer research

|PIC1|Multi-platinum and award-winning artist Amy Grant recently announced a special partnership with Cristina Carlino, founder of Philosophy Inc, a personal care company, and Art of Grace, a not-for-profit company for greater purpose.

Grant just recorded 'She colors my day', a song written by Carlino and her business partner Stuart Matheson. This is the first time ever that a beauty brand has crossed over into the world of music and the two aim to deliver a creative and relevant song that presents an important message.

Inspired by the artwork of her daughter, Carlino and Mathison authored and co-created a heartwarming song that celebrates the relationship between a mother and her daughter.

"I sought out Amy Grant because she has been inspiring women of all ages for over two decades through her music," says Carlino. "She is also a wife and mother working hard to achieve balance between family and career."

The 'She colors my day' single recorded by grant will be available in 2008 to coincide with breast cancer awareness month in October. Philosophy will support Art of Grace by creating a 'She colors my day' inspirational bath product and will donate 100 per cent of its net proceeds from the sale of the product to the Entertainment Industry Foundation's women's cancer research fund. The bath product will be available exclusively at philosophy.com.

'She colors my day' will serve as Art of Grace's first project to raise funds and awareness for the entertainment industry foundation's women's cancer research fund, an organisation dedicated to developing an early detection biomarker test so that women's cancers can be detected years before current tests allow.

While most companies choose to license chart-topping hit singles to align their brand and products with pop-culture, Philosophy said it felt it was more important to partner with Carlino and Art of Grace and support an original work that truly reflected the company's values.

In addition to recording 'She colors my day', Grant also agreed to host philosophy's upcoming infomercial. Philosophy says it strives to inspire its customers to live a better life by being better to themselves, and has created an infomercial that focuses on balancing the role of beauty in its customers' lives.

Amy Grant's teenage daughters are fans of the Philosophy range. She teamed up with the brand because she said she wanted to reinforce to her daughters and women everywhere that its not always about what you see on the outside, and that it is important to let your inner beauty shine through.

"I was thrilled when Philosophy came to me with this wonderful opportunity to give back to the Entertainment Industry Foundation's women's cancer research fund and share with women everywhere that the mark of real beauty is just not what someone sees from the outside, it does go from the outside in and from the inside out," said Grant. "I love everything about the message of Philosophy. It's what I want for my four daughters. It's what I want for myself."

Singer/songwriter Grant has sold over 30 million records and is a multi-grammy award winner.
