American actress and comedian Amy Schumer recently weighed in on the sexual harassment allegations made against fellow comedian Aziz Ansari -- a story that came out last month. Schumer shared her thoughts during a recent podcast with Katie Couric, as they discussed the hotly debated issue of women's rights that spawned the "MeToo" and "Time's Up" movements, as well as the pending fate of Ansari.

During the podcast, Schumer revealed that she and Ansari, who is now 34 years old, are friends, and that she does not wish for his career to come to an end because of the allegations made by the accuser known as Grace. Additionally, she also pointed out that most people's reaction upon discovering the details of the incident between Grace and Ansari is to look down upon the "Master of None" star and creator -- and according to Schumer, this should not be the case.

Schumer reminded women that when they are in a sexual situation that turns uncomfortable, they have the freedom to "leave" the premises at any time. However, she also iterated that despite being close to Ansari, she aims to look at the case objectively, since she herself can relate and empathize to this type of experience that women have.

Furthermore, Schumer shared during the podcast that she had been raped in the past, but also recognized that there are many forms of sexual misdeeds that are being committed against women. Schumer revealed in her book "The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo," which was released back in 2016, that her first sexual encounter was not consensual since the man did not confirm with Schumer if it was okay to engage in sexual activity.

As reported by People, Ansari previously stated that by his account, all of the ongoings between him and Grace at the time seemed "completely consensual," and that he was not aware that he was violating her in any way. After Grace told him of her terrible experience, Ansari duly apologized for making her feel uncomfortable.
