Google rolls out a new version of Android Nougat this week.

Google rolls out particularly version 7.1.2 of Android Nougat. It is expected to address bug fixes, bring in several improvements, and other upgrades. As expected, the newest version of the operating system (OS) will first launch on Google devices including Google Pixel and Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5P, and Pixel C.

For Pixel smartphones, Android Nougat 7.1.2 is considered a minor update. Specifically, it is expected to bring in improvements on the fingerprint swipe performance and Bluetooth connectivity. The newest version of the OS is also anticipated to bring in an indicator in the status bar of the handset that lets the user know if the application is consuming too much power, thus draining the battery faster.

In addition, the small number of users who experienced some problems such as early shutdown, pink banding on the camera, or audio popping issue when played in high volume should expect these issues to be addressed in the new Android version.

On the other hand, for Nexus devices, users can expect better connectivity as these devices underwent general overhaul in this aspect. Aside from this, the new Android 7.1.2 is expected to give better notification stability, as well as the battery saving feature in Pixel devices.

Users of Nexus devices will also be pleased to know that Android Nougat 7.1.2 brings in the flexibility of controlling the fingerprint swipe on their handsets, as this is something that is not available as a feature initially.

Users owning Google devices can now download the newest version of the OS upgrade. Most likely, more enhancements will come as the launch of Android O nears.

Meanwhile, it is still uncertain when Android Nougat 7.1.2 will roll out to other devices, but there are speculations that it may come sometime in spring 2017. More details will likely be announced soon.
