Nexus 5 users on the Sprint network are believed to be the first to get their hands on the Android 4.4.3 KitKat today.

That's according to GSMArena, which reports details of the update carrying version number KTU48F.

While it doesn't bring in any major changes to the user interface or the features, it will fix some bugs, including camera bugs. 

The bug named 'mm-qcamera-daemon' was dogging the camera and also zapping the device's battery.  

Sprint says the update will enable the device to work on Sprint's LTE network, bands 26 and 41.  

Users will welcome some of the other fixes coming through the update to data connection loss, while also stabilising Bluetooth/WiFi connectivity. 

Some users reported problems with the device rebooting at random so the update should put an end to that. 

The update includes "miscellaneous Android updates", Sprint says, but while some websites are already determining this to be the awaited Android 4.4.3 KitKat update, other websites are saying only that it may be.

It is Sprint's details about "Misc Android updates" that are giving rise to the Android 4.4.3 KitKat speculation. 

But the general consensus is that the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update is imminent and that if it has indeed gone to Nexus 5 users first, it will surely be rolling out to other devices very soon, possibly before the end of the week.  

Nexus 5 users can check their Settings to see if they can download the update.  From Settings, go to About Phone and then System Updates.

Most users will likely get the update over the next 2 to 3 weeks.  The assumption is that it will roll out to other Nexus devices - so the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10, and Google Play edition handsets - before other devices.
