Google is now seeding the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS update to Nexus and Google Play Edition devices.to address some of the bugs and issues found in the 5.0 version of the operating system.

According to reports, the update is now rolling out to Nexus 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10 as well as to the Google Play Edition of Moto G, Moto X (2014), and HTC One M8. The system update stated that the 5.0.1 version of Android is now available thru Over-The-Air update. The update says that it will improve the performance and stability of the device as well as fixes the bugs that users complain about.

However, Google has not yet released an official list of the bug fixes included in the new Android 5.0.1 update. It is speculated that the OS update will resolve the issues that users have encountered, such as inability to connect to Wi-Fi networks, data loss during update, and depleted battery life.

Meanwhile, just like other versions of the Android operating system, the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS update will be released in phases. This means that not all Nexus and GPE devices will receive the update at the same time. The reason behind this is to see if there are bugs or errors in the update before it rolls out to the general public. Moreover, Google does not want to burden the system with overwhelming traffic when a large number of users download the update.

Users will soon receive a notification for Over-The-Air software update. They can download and install the OS by tapping "Download Now" or check if the software update is available by going to Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now. Users are constantly reminded to update with at least 50 percent of battery charge and they need to make sure that they have a stable Internet connection.
