After several months of waiting, Google finally unveiled the much-awaited factory images of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for several variants of the Asus Google Nexus 7 tablets. Prior to the latest release, Google only managed to update the Wi-Fi models of the Nexus 7 since October 2014 when the Android 5.0 Lollipop was unveiled to the public, aside from the smartphones in the Nexus line. 

The factory images of the Nexus 7 tablet were unveiled during the weekend. This means that the rollout of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop will happen very soon. But not like the earlier Android 5.0.2 update for the 2012 Nexus 7, the latest one for the 2013 model seems to be an improved version. 

According to Tech Times, one of the noticeable improvements in the latest Android 5.0.2 update is its zero effect on the speed of the device. It also runs smoothly on all apps for both versions of the Nexus 7, since the most in-demand apps like Netflix, Facebook, and Google Play Music work well when updated with the latest Android 5.0.2. 

Those who managed to download the Android 5.0.2 on their Nexus 7 tablets also noted that there are no issues regarding bugs in their devices as of the moment. But that observation is inconclusive at this point since users use different apps and network providers in their devices, which could mean that while some have bug-free functions, others can still have issues on their Nexus 7 tablets. 

The new Android 5.0.2 update with the build code LRX22G actually has the same build number that the company rolled out for the Wi-Fi-enabled Nexus 7 as well as the Nexus 10 devices. 

However, the tech giant still has no announcement about its plans to release the Android 5.0.2 update over-the-air for those who want to download it, but analysts are guessing that the release date will come soon.
