The Moto G, a device that has been running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS for some time now, has finally gotten a dose of Android Lollipop love.

Motorola has announced that the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop will now be available for Moto G (2013) owners but warned that once applied, there will be no option to revert or downgrade the OS.

Hence, for first-generation Moto G owners who are having second thoughts, you may want to hold back until you are sure of upgrading to the updated Android 5.0.2 OS. Then again, who wouldn't want to upgrade to the newer Android Lollipop OS?

For the ones who plan to upgrade to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, a new and visually appealing interface awaits that should deliver better user experience. The highly touted Material Design UI will provide users with fluid animations and themes which Moto G owners are bound to approve.

Aside from the improved interface, users can expect a lot of changes such as new display of notifications on the device (lock screen, arrival of new, recent apps and more alerts). The new Android Runtime should help improve the device apps to run smoothly as well.

For Moto G users who want to find out if the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop is ready for application, simply head to the System updates menu and select "Yes I'm in". Downloading should start thereafter and installation will start once you push the "Install now" button.

Before proceeding, it would be best to make sure that your device has the ample power to accommodate the download. Make sure that your phone has at least 50% of battery charge and also make sure that your WiFi connection is stable.

After successfully applying the update, the device will restart and carry the latest firmware.
