With the news that the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS was released to Nexus devices last week, the new operating system is slowly creeping to other Android-based devices like Google Play Edition handsets. According to the latest reports, HTC is currently preparing for the roll out of Android 5.0 Lollipop OS to the Google Play Edition of HTC One M7 and M8,

HTC's U.S. vice president of product management Mo Versi announced via Twitter that the company will deliver the update early this week. The tweet did not specify whether both M7 and M8 will receive the Lollipop OS. However, HTC previously confirmed that both handsets will receive the OS update.

Meanwhile, the Nexus 4, 5, 7, and 10 devices as well as the LG G3, Moto X (2014) Pure edition and Moto G finally received the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update. It is obvious that Android 5.0 Lollipop OS's roadmap will make a stop on Nexus and Google Play Edition devices first. Then, Google will roll out the operating system to third-party manufacturers that use Android OS and deliver them to their respective devices with respective customizations. Motorola, HTC and LG were reportedly the first mobile manufacturers to roll out the Android update to their respective devices.

The latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS boasts the new user interface dubbed as Material Design. This shows off new appearance consisting of vivid colors, responsiveness, and natural shadows. Moreover, the new user interface brings "intuitive experiences across all your devices," according to Google.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop OS also includes improved features such as better notifications, lockscreen, multi-tasking, and notification bar. Another feature packed in Android 5.0 Lollipop is the battery saver feature and battery settings screen. When the user plugs in the device, it will show the estimated time left until the battery is fully-charged.
