Another carrier has rolled out the Android 5.0 Lollipop. This time, it is US Cellular which has announced the availability of the Android 5.0 Lollipop, something that is now available for their customers who own the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge.

With most carriers slowly releasing the Android 5.0 Lollipop for most of their handsets, US Cellular seems to be doing the same thing now and the luck devices are the said phablets.

The Android 5.0 update comes in the midst of the impending coming of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, two highly touted devices that are expected to steal the limelight from all of Samsung devices (including phablets) currently in use by techies and individuals.

To refresh you, the Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge were the flagship phablets which hit the market way back in September. The Note Edge was a limited edition one-sided tryout of the much talked about curved screen technology, something that the Galaxy S6 Edge enhances with its dual-sided curved screen display.

Among the things to expect with the Android 5.0 Lollipop would be an improvement in battery life and an update Material Design UI which should give devices a new unified look.

For the ones who may not be familiar on how to apply the Android 5.0 update, there are two ways to go about it.

The first one is the traditional direct download to either device. Make sure that you have a stable and proper WiFi connection to make sure the update doesn't end up being corrupted.

Another option is to connection your phone to a PC where you can simply transfer it (after download) via USB interface.

Despite the availability of the Android 5.0 Lollipop, there are varying reports that the such has been resulting in battery drains, overheating and forced closing of apps. Hence, update to Android 5.0 Lollipop is optional.
