Samsung officially announced a staggered rollout of Android's new 5.0 Lollipop update for many of its line-ups, especially the Note and S series. 

In the U.S., fans of the Galaxy Note 3 can now upgrade to Lollipop 5.0, for those with T-Mobile as their carrier. Samsung has updated the software upgrade and details page for the phablet, with a March 4 release date for the 5.0 update, meaning a rollout for the operating system is now making its way to T-Mobile subscribers.

Aside from T-Mobile, owners of the Galaxy Note 3 in major European countries, namely Austria, Czech Republic, Germany; Hungary, Romania, and the U.K., can already upgrade their operating systems to Lollipop 5.0 for the international versions of the phablet. 

Meanwhile, Sprint might have inadvertently advertised an Android Lollipop 5.0 upgrade for their Note 3 devices. In an internal document that is now making its rounds in developer forums, it was noted that Sprint is still in the developing stages for their 5.0 release, and had been beaten by T-Mobile to the punch. No updates have come into sight yet for schedules from Verizon and AT&T on their Galaxy Note 3 upgrades. 

For the Galaxy S4, the GT-I9505 variant can already be updated by advanced users who are comfortable with manually flashing their smartphones. This update is outside of the official release of the 5.0 update by Samsung, and is intended only for experienced developers. No update for U.S. carriers is available as of press time, but large international markets such as India and Russia have already received the official 5.0 version. 

While Sprint and T-Mobile subscribers who are S5 fans have already upgraded to Android 5.0, AT&T subscribers who are Galaxy S5 owners are still waiting for their phones to be upgraded to Lollipop 5.0. A tweet by the carrier promises that they are now working on the update and will roll it out as soon as possible.
