As Google continues to work on Android M, the tech behemoth's newest mobile operating system, smartphone manufacturers carry on distributing the latest available operating system, the Android Lollipop to their handsets. One of these enthusiastic tech firms is Motorola. 

The Lenovo-owned company has been gracing the headlines lately for its continuous rollout of the software with variants of the Moto X and the Moto G already getting the Lollipop treatment. Now, Android 5.1 Lollipop is almost ready for owners of the Moto G 4G in the U.S. 

Motorola is currently soak testing the firmware for the first generation smartphone, with Motorola senior director for software product management David Schuster backing up the news. Meanwhile, users in Europe and in the U.K. already enjoy the features of the update on their Moto G 4G LTE. 

The Android 5.1 Lollipop update is also being prepared for Moto Droid Turbo and it looks like users of the 5.2-inch handset won't have to wait that long before they get their hands on the newer version of the operating system. 

Despite Motorola's persistence to doll up its devices with the new firmware, LG isn't doing the same thing for the two-year-old Vu 3 tablet. There are reports that despite the device's capability to run Android Lollipop, LG won't give it the treatment. 

The LG Vu 3 debuted with Android 4.2.2 Jellybean two years ago and was furnished with a very capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 2 GB RAM. It was eventually upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat and it looks like it will be the last time it gets updated. 

The news about LG's decision to skip Lollipop for the tablet has reportedly angered users. However, it looks like the South Korea-based company isn't changing its mind. Techtree says that the company seems to be more focused in introducing new smartphones.
