More Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates are coming to various devices. This time, the entire Sony Xperia Z5 lineup gets its turn to get a taste of the latest iteration of the mobile operating system for Android.

Popular leakster Ricciolo stated via Twitter that the entire Xperia Z5 family will get to make the jump by next month. He also claimed that older Xperia models will also get the Marshmallow treatment shortly after.

While there's no confirmation about this directly from Sony, the Japan-based company updating its lineup to the latest Google could offer is very likely. As GSM Arena pointed out, even the second line of Sony Xperia devices adapted to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop despite the processors' limitations.

If Ricciolo's claim is accurate, users with the smartphones from the Sony Xperia Z5 family will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow by January. Rollouts do not drop all at once so it should take days or weeks for all devices to get the update.

It is only this time that the older models will be getting the sweet update. That being said, there's no concrete information as to when the Xperia Z4 line and older will get their turn for the Marshmallow update.

While Sony Xperia Z5 users wait for official confirmation from Sony, those with the Xiaomi Mi 4 and the Mi Note would love to know that Android 6.0 Marshmallow is coming to the aforementioned devices. The China-based tech firm's MIUI operations manager confirmed the update via Weibo.

The Marshmallow update won't bring a new version of a user interface so it will remain at MIUI 7, but the software is sure to give the devices, as it is with any device that gets updated with it, improvements on their overall performance.

The battery life gets prolonged with the tweaks and optimizations also promising greater stability and nippier performance.
