Samsung started its newest Android update program by introducing Android M beta to select flagship lineups. However, outside of the tests being done in choice locations such as South Korea, Samsung mobile device owners have yet to see the new Android platform as an official update.

Samsung seems to be picking up its pace in sending out Android 6.0 updates, as recent speculations suggest that the new platform is already available in its beta version for some Galaxy Note 5 owners.

According to SamMobile, some AT&T subscribers in the U.S. have received a beta version of Android 6.0 on the Galaxy Note 5. Reportedly, around 200 participants in the test feature were previously selected, and AT&T has now started rolling out e-mail messages instructing the testers to update their Galaxy Note 5 devices to the latest Android platform's beta version.

Android Community added that the news seems genuine as an AT&T subscriber using a Galaxy Note 5 reportedly posted screenshots of the user interface and update details of the beta version. The update itself is not an OTA one; instead, users will have to download a Samsung app which will then install the beta version.

The beta version of Android 6.0 came in a little over 1 GB, and the beta reflected build number MMB29K.N920AUCU2BPB1 and a kernel build date of Feb. 2, 2016. The update also carried over the February security patch for Samsung's firmware.

While reviews have yet to make their way online, first impressions seem to be that the Android 6.0 beta for the Galaxy Note 5 looks almost the same as the one introduced previously for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in South Korea. The user interface and TouchWiz icons are the same in all Android 6.0 beta versions, and users might expect the same improvements in addition to device-specific tweaks.
