Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ owners will be thrilled to know that their units will be the first ones to receive Android Marshmallow, according to a leaked schedule detailing the timeframe for the new Android version rollouts for different Samsung devices.

According to a scoop by Times News UK, the update roadmap has the South Korean tech giant dividing its Android 6.0 release into two waves. For phase 1, the Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ have already been approved for an OTA notification rollout next month. Early next year, two other devices will also be updated to the new Android platform – the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Following the two S6 variants' update in January, the next month will see the Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge receive their Android 6.0 updates.

Also included on the list for a phase 1 Android Marshmallow rollout are the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Alpha. However, the roadmap lists these devices' statuses as "pending approval."

Meanwhile, phase 2 of the rollout still has to come out with their respective release dates, but the devices involved in the next phase have already been listed, coming from both the Galaxy A and E series. Topping the list is the newly released Galaxy A8, followed by the Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5, and Galaxy A3. The last two devices indicated are the Galaxy E7 and the Galaxy E5.

All the devices in the second round of Android 6.0 updates for Samsung are still waiting for approval.

Those who have Samsung devices not included in the Android 6.0 rollout roadmap need not worry as there is still a phase 3 in the works (indicated in the roadmap.) However, it is unclear which of the remaining Samsung devices will make the cut.
