Several Nexus smartphone devices could finally have the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat update in early December, according to a listing from Vodafone Australia.

The network provider claims that Google will roll out a software update for the latest generation of Huawei's Nexus flagship smartphone, the Nexus 6P, that was released in December 2015.

According to Vodafone Australia, the Android 7.1.1 Nougat software update for Nexus 6P will start at 5:00 p.m. AEST on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

The Australian network provider also revealed that around 10,000 Nexus 6P smartphones will be selected randomly during the first three days of the rollout, and those who will be eligible to update their devices will be alerted through Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) Push Message, or they can check manually if they are included in the list of devices that can be updated.

Then the next 10 percent of Nexus 6P smartphone users will be selected during day 4 to 13 of the scheduled rollout, while the rest will be able to update during day 14.

The mobile network carrier also revealed that the FOTA update will be around 650 MB. Those who will not be notified can check the Nexus 6P interactive user guide to receive instructions.

Some of the changes that are expected to come with the Android 7.1.1 Nougat include the circular app icons support, an improved live wallpaper metadata, storage manager intent, as well as image keyboard support that widens the kinds of content that users can input in the device using their keyboards.

The news about the December rollout of the Android 7.1.1 Nougat mobile operating system was first confirmed by Android through their developers' website back in October.

Aside from the Nexus 6P, the Android 7.1.1 is also expected to be rolled out in other Google smartphones, including the newly released Google Pixel and Pixel XL, as well as Nexus 5X and Pixel C.

Fear, denial and control: Why the Cuban government prohibits the most natural responses to the country’s dire humanitarian needs

It may be hard to fathom how such pettiness plays into the government’s wider crackdown on FoRB and other fundamental human rights, or how on earth it could justify extending its repression to children, but ultimately it all comes down to fear.
