Android 8.0 Oreo news: List of Samsung devices getting OS update leaks online

Months after the release of Android 8.0 Oreo, smartphone users are still waiting for the latest OS version to arrive on their devices. As for the Samsung followers, Google has yet to announce the date which the Android update is expected to roll out. Fortunately, a list of Samsung devices getting the Oreo system upgrade has leaked online.

The Android 8.0 Oreo was officially launched three months ago as the successor to Nougat. The latest OS version introduced key features that will help improve the user's interaction with the Android device. While many people are already waiting for Oreo, leading tech manufacturers like Samsung have yet to implement the update on their devices. So far, only the beta version of the Android Oreo was included in the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones, BGR reported.

The list of Samsung devices expected to receive the actual Android 8.0 Oreo version was leaked in the Chinese social network site Weibo, which came from a reliable Samsung tech tipster known as ice universe. According to Androidos.in, ice universe has a good record of leaking reliable insider scoops from Samsung, which adds more credence to the list.

It appears that most of the recent Samsung devices will be covered by the upcoming Android 8.0 Oreo launch, as the list includes a total of 36 gadgets. The Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, and S6 Edge Plus are spotted on the list, as well as the 2017 lineup of mid-range Galaxy A-series smartphones. Based on the list, even the Samsung tablets will get the Oreo update soon.

Interestingly, the leaked list also include the Samsung Galaxy handsets that have not yet been announced by the South Korean tech giant. For one, the list shows that the upcoming 2018 Galaxy A-series smartphones will have the Android 8.0 Oreo OS shortly after their launch early next year. These new Galaxy A devices are the Galaxy A3 (2018) and Galaxy A7 (2018), which are expected to run the Android Nougat version out of the box. The Android Oreo update will arrive in these devices at a later date.
