Android M, other Google I/O 2015 predictions

Android MGoogle

Google's annual conference for its developers and other stakeholders kicks off Thursday, and fans and observers from the entire tech community are already speculating on what products and services the tech giant will present during this year's I/O Conference event. What are the different things fans expect?

Android M

Of course, one thing that most people expect that would take center stage in this year's biggest Google event is the unveiling of the newest version of Android, dubbed as Android M. Building on the massive improvements and enhancements on the various updates for the current Lollipop, the upcoming Android version is rumored to focus more on better privacy controls, RAM improvements, and an overhauled interface. There are also reports that Android M may come with a native full fingerprint scanner support.

Android Wear

Another thing that Google fans expect to be reiterated at the upcoming Google I/O is the company's future plans for Android Wear. While it is true that there was a recent major update for the platform support on Google's different wearables, it still didn't budge people's interest in the recently-launched competitor, the Apple Watch. Google may announce the next updates for current Android Wear smartwatches, and partner it with details on upcoming wearable hardware.

Android Auto

Since some say that Google already dominates the smartphone sphere, the company is looking for other avenues to lead, and auto support may be one of them. Google has already made some  headway into car systems, with Hyundai reported to be adopting Android Auto in their new cars line up.

Demo freebies

This is the crux of every attendee's wish list. In previous Google I/O events, the company gave out free Nexus phones and tablets, Chromecasts, and Chromebooks. People are looking forward to this year's free items, which some speculate to include Chrome 2 and a new Android Wear watch.
