Android Marshmallow is now on its way to the Exynos-powered version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. It looks like the rollout is targeted to several parts of the world, with users from the U.S., Poland, India and Turkey reporting receiving the software.

The update is 1.3GB in size. It comes with the freshly released April security patch, which is rather impressive, and bumps up the software of the phablet to the 6.0.1 version of Marshmallow.

For Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users who haven't received the update yet, they can check it manually by going to the device's Settings menu and downloading Android Marshmallow themselves.

On the other hand, Android Marshmallow is now ready for the OnePlus One. Owners of the 2014 flagship were promised of a Q1 2016 release of the software back in November.

OnePlus founder Carl Pei announced on Twitter that "Marshmallow for the One is in the final testing stage. Can't give ETA as it depends on other parties, but should be very soon." Now, it looks like the update is already seeding.

Unlike OnePlus One, its successor OnePlus 2 will get updated to Android Marshmallow after a beta program, which is a final measure for OnePlus to polish the software prior to releasing the software to everyone.

Android Marshmallow packs a whole host of stability-improving and performance-boosting tweaks on top of key battery life-centric features like the new Doze mode, which should put the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the OnePlus One in deep sleep to save some juice.

Another Android Marshmallow feature to look forward to is the new Google Now on Tap, which displays information that users will find useful or relevant. The software also introduces a more secure permissions system within apps.

Other notable features include the Attentive Display and the new Do Not Disturb mode, both designed to help users extend their Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and OnePlus One's battery life.
