Samsung Galaxy device users can soon get the latest Android mobile operating system, new reports revealed.

Tech Times recently reported the release schedule of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to several Samsung smartphone models, including the latest flagship products of the South Korean mobile brand.

Based on the report, a leaked document mentions that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will have the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow very soon. But a note in the document says that the status of the operating system update was still "updating" as of Nov. 15, which means that the system developers were still doing some tests.

Since November is almost over, it is safe to assume that the operating system update will be released anytime soon.

Aside from the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, other Samsung Galaxy products will also receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update based on the following schedule:

  • Galaxy Note 5 (December 2015)
  • Galaxy S6 edge+ (January 2016)
  • Galaxy S6 (January 2016)
  • Galaxy S6 edge (January 2016)
  • Galaxy Note 4 (February 2016)
  • Galaxy Note Edge (February 2016)
  • Galaxy A5 (March 2016)
  • Galaxy S5 (April 2016)
  • Galaxy Tab S 10.5 (April 2016)

Bringing the new Android 6 Marshmallow update to the new flagship devices first is not a surprising move from the mobile phone manufacturer, since most brands normally update the latest product releases before its older products.

Noticeably absent from the list of Samsung devices that are scheduled to receive the new Android operating system update are the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone and the Samung Galaxy Tab 3 tablet.

However, other Galaxy products like the Samsung Galaxy A, Samsung Galaxy E, and Samsung Galaxy J smartphone products are still waiting for approval to be updated to the Android 6 Marshmallow operating system.
