Google has already released the developer preview of the follow-up to Android Marshmallow. This means that Android N is already in its final development stages and may be released this year. It may come out sooner than fans expected as speculations suggest that the full version of Android N may come out as early as May.

According to the IB Times, Google has already scheduled its annual I/O Conference for May. Reportedly, the industry giant will be showcasing the full version of Android N. The reveal of Android N at the event will also introduce a number of new devices that will carry the Android platform, the two new Nexus smartphones and a refreshed Nexus 7 tablet.

With the rollout of Android N on the new Nexus devices, other flagships are rumored to soon follow the release. According to Yibada, one of the early adoptees of the Android N platform is Samsung's next flagship, the Galaxy Note 6.

Allegedly, the Galaxy Note follow-up will come pre-installed with Android N. Since the Galaxy Note 6 will come out with Android N right out of the box, it means that Samsung already has a build template for succeeding flagship versions and will immediately follow up the Galaxy Note 6 release with an Android N rollout to its other lineups like the Galaxy S series and previous versions of the Galaxy Note.

While Google has yet to confirm the details, details about Android N are already pointing out that its final version will soon be released. The developer preview is already available and being checked out on a number of Nexus devices. In addition, manufacturers and carriers are nearly complete in their updates of current-gen Android M. This means that the previous and current-gen mobile devices are ready to receive the Android N update once it rolls out.
