With Google finished with its Android 7.0 rollout to Nexus devices, third-party iterations are now waiting for the Android Nougat base version. Speculations suggest that Motorola is one of the first tech makers to start the update.

The update follows closely to a previous soak test that was done by Motorola. However, instead of another beta test, the recent update seems to be the real thing, as the full version of Android Nougat 7.0 was downloaded through OTA notifications for the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. Additionally, observers believe that this is the start of the full version release since Motorola has already published the release notes for the new update.

The release notes list all the improvements and changes that Android Nougat brings, including the new multi-window mode for multitasking, Android for Work, and Doze on the Go, among other features. There is also a new built-in Data Saver and improved notifications integrated with the Motorola iterations.

Meanwhile, although the release has been limited to the India-based Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus, it is expected that a staggered release will see the new platform in a global rollout. In addition, it is expected that since Motorola already started the update, it is likely that the next in line to receive the Android Nougat 7.0 release schedule will be the new Moto flagship, the Moto Z lineup. Tech makers usually roll out major Android updates to their most recent releases.

Motorola has been one of the tech makers that promised a quick and speedy update to Android Nougat as soon as Google made it official, and it already put on record that it will start the update release in Q4 this year. Meanwhile, other tech makers like HTC and Samsung also announced that they will roll out their own Android Nougat 7.0 updates before the year ends.
