Google's upcoming Android O release will reportedly come with the capacity to block ransomware attacks. 

According to reports, the next-generation mobile operating system will have stricter measures to stop malicious software from hindering access to several documents, apps, or other devices, unless a certain amount of money is released for payment.

Symantec's official blog reveals that after the first developer preview of the upcoming Android O was released, one of its contents has a direct impact on most threats caused by Android ransomware attacks, particularly those that use the system-type windows even if users grant it with relevant permission.

The report also notes that while the latest feature of the Android O offers a good defense against several ransomware threats, it may not have an effect on such ransomware including those that constantly pop up the device's lock screen with the use of level windows.

Other expected features of the upcoming Android O, which were teased in the developer preview, include longer battery life with the help of Background Limits, a significant notification channel modification, and the inclusion of the Picture in Picture feature on tablets and mobile devices after it was earlier launched on Android TV, along with the Android 7 Nougat.

Reports also mention that the soon-to-be released Android O will also come with autofill API features that will allow users to store pertinent information like addresses, passwords, and phone numbers securely and safely.

The Android O will also come with better audio quality and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as better color support and better keyboard navigation that comes with enhanced arrow and tab steering to provide better support for both Android app developers and ordinary users.

Google has yet to announce the official release date of the Android O, but the tech giant is expected to reveal more details about the next-generation mobile operating system in the coming months.
