Andy Hunter - Life

Following the massive success of British DJ Andy Hunter's groundbreaking dance album 'Exodus', he has now returned with a new collection of powerfully instrumental and electronic sounds capes. Breaking down the barriers of what worship is, and going for God in an energetic way, the new album called 'Life', brings cool to Christian dance.

Combining Andy's passion for God as a worship leader with a strong creative ability to weave together elements of Progressive House, Trance, Drum and Bass and Electronica genres is the result of several years of experiences in dance clubs and churches across Germany, Sweden, the UK and Japan.

Everything started six years ago when Andy gave up his job as a sound engineer and joined a UK church-planting organisation called New Generation Missions. It has the vision of combining art and missions to reach young people on the streets, and giving help to the hopeless.

"A lot of those kids were into the DJ and dance music scene, so I bought some turntables and some vinyl and really started to get into it as a means of building relationships, landing as a worship leader," remembers Andy. Even though they had never set foot in a church before, the experience was successful and a lot of them soon turned to Christ.

"My music is all about cleansing ourselves before God and coming into His presence, getting into the place where we can worship God and sacrifice our all. It's about wanting to be holy in His sight, and longing for a taste of His glory," said Andy Hunter

All the tracks from the new album called 'Life' which is released on 24th May, have been inspired by the picture which God revealed to Andy a few years ago.

"The picture of a wasteland, everything was grey and dead. On the Horizon of this wasteland there was a figure and it was Jesus. Every step that He took towards me life grew under his feet to the side and behind. My prayer, as I saw this picture, was to run faster bring the life and colour to this."

"My goal is just to take Jesus to the furthest reaches of youth culture. That's why I do club shows in the first place. I want to bring Jesus to people whether they're Christians or not. I know it seems like an unlikely method, but God is using these turntables to turn hearts to Himself," expressed Andy
