Actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie certainly went through a lot this year, and the rumors did not help. This 2017, one of the biggest rumors the former couple faced was the news that they were "secretly planning" on getting back together.

According to rumor-busting site Gossip Cop, this piece of information was first spread by a tabloid called Life&Style. Back in May, the tabloid reported that the former couple were "seeing each other several times a week." This was supposedly according to a "friend" who was close to both actors.

"Slowly the old feelings have started to return... It's like they're now dating again," the tabloid added.

The tabloid also claimed that Pitt and Jolie were reluctant to reveal the "renewed" relationship because they did not want to confuse their children. They added that the couple will make their supposed relationship public again soon.

The rumor-busting site pointed out that no such relationship was made public, simply because the rumor was untrue. Pitt and Jolie did not date again, nor did they have a "secret relationship."

What they have is simply a co-parenting dynamic. Both seem to put the needs of their kids as a top priority.

In addition, the tabloid also contradicted itself when it published in July that Pitt asked for sole custody of their children. Gossip Cop pointed out that if there was a relationship, custody would not be a problem for the former couple anymore.

Another contradiction is when the same tabloid posted the actress turned down a $100 million settlement. The rumor was shot down because a settlement would not make sense if the two are planning on reconciling anyway.

There were lots of rumors about the power couple that came out this year, but it seems that the reunion is the one that was most reported.

In any case, Pitt and Jolie remain separated, and there are no plans of reconciliation.
