Last Sept. 15, Warner Brothers Pictures released an announcement trailer for the upcoming horror movie, "Annabelle 2." Even if it was a quick minute, the clip had an eerie, unsettling feel. This got people asking just how scary is it going to be.

The film tackles the very roots of the cursed doll, way before the plot for "The Conjuring" took place. Annabelle was created by a dollmaker and his wife whose daughter met a tragic death. Twenty years later, their house became a shelter for a nun and several girls. When the possessed doll took over and possessed the children, that was when all the madness started, Coming Soon has learned.

More than the plot, the actual filmmaking was hair-raising for the crew that they had to take extreme measures. Costume designer Leah Butler told Cosmopolitan in an interview that the doll looked very freaky to the extent that one actress suggested a priest bless it. They did it just to be on the safe side.

In other news, it appears that Annabelle's character had everyone's imagination going. This also includes Don Mancini, creator of the franchise "Child's Play" where the famous Chucky starred in.

According to USA Today, Mancini mentioned that he really wants the team-up between Annabelle and Chucky to happen, if not even a cameo would do. "We would be into it, the only problem is that we are in different studios. That would probably be years worth of red tape to work it out. But if it all could be worked out, then yes, we're very into it," Mancini explained.

According to the movie's official website, "Annabelle" raked in nearly $257 million at the worldwide box office, so with "The Conjuring" and the cursed doll's popularity right now, breaking the record may not necessarily be farfetched.

"Annabelle 2" is scheduled to scare more viewers in theaters on May 19, 2017.
