Marvel fans have waited for a decade to witness the amalgamation of popular comic book superheroes in the big screen via "Avengers: Infinity War." Although, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has a lot more to offer this year other than the much-anticipated "Avengers" sequel. For one, the fans will get to see Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) one more time in action in "Ant-Man and the Wasp," alongside Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly). There are speculations that Ant-Man's next solo adventure would have some great importance for the forthcoming Infinity War, with one of the six Infinity Stones, the Soul Stone, likely to be discovered in the sequel.

According to Comic Book, there is a chance that "Ant-Man and the Wasp" will reveal the next Infinity Stone in the MCU. The powerful Infinity Stones have been introduced one by one, starting with the Tesseract in "Captian America: The First Avenger," and the latest one to be revealed being the Time Stone in 2016's "Doctor Strange." At this point, it is rumored that the Soul Stone will make an appearance after "Avengers: Infinity War," and the next Marvel feature film to be released after it is the "Ant-Man" sequel.

Fans have been speculating since the first "Ant-Man" movie was shown that the Quantum Realm, in which Hank Pym's (Michael Douglas) wife, Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), was trapped into after the latter decided to become sub-atomic in size to disarm a bomb. In "Ant-Man and the Wasp," the Quantum Realm will be explored once more as Janet makes a surprising comeback, the same thing that Scott did in the first movie when he turned sub-atomic. In many years that Janet had stayed in that realm, it is possible that she has some knowledge about the things existing in there. Janet could end up revealing that the Soul Stone is in that plane all this time.

Of course, the Soul Stone being found in the Quantum Realm is only a speculative theory, given that "Avengers: Infinity War" will arrive soon and there are two more Infinity Stones that are yet to be found. If there is one new Infinity Stone to be revealed in the third "Avengers" film, it is possible that the last one will be introduced in "Ant-Man and the Wasp." After all, the untitled "Avengers" 2019 title is expected to feature the culmination of the Infinity War, and there is not much time for the MCU to show the location of the other Infinity Stones.

In other news, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige gave praises to Pfeiffer's performance as Janet van Dyne in "Ant-Man and the Wasp." Feige revealed that Pfeiffer is on top of the list of actresses who could play the original The Wasp character, and her presence in the "Ant-Man" sequel is something he had always wanted to see.

"People ask sometimes about movie stars and star power and who's the most exciting person to be around, and the truth is that once you get to know them as people, they don't feel like movie stars — everybody is just a super-impressive human," Feige said in an interview with Vulture. "But in a room full of movie stars, Michelle Pfeiffer rises to the top."

"Ant-Man and the Wasp" is scheduled for a worldwide release on July 6, 2018.
