When Disney/ Marvel Studios released the first teaser trailer for "Ant-Man" last Jan. 5, fans wondered if the studios were dropping the now-iconic sense of humor and light-heartedness that pervades all past Marvel movies up to this point, particularly "Guardians of the Galaxy." However, actress Judy Greer stated that the film will keep the light tone these films are known for. According to a feature at ComingSoon, the film even lent some room for improvisational comedy on her part.

Her original statement was, "I haven't seen it [the teaser trailer] yet, but there was a lot of comedy on set and we did a lot of comedic improv. I don't know what will end up in the movie, but yeah."

Greer will be portraying Maggie, ex-wife to Paul Rudd's Ant-Man/ Scott Lang, and the two characters will be sharing custody over their daughter Cassie, played by Abby Ryder Fortson.

While unfamiliar with Marvel Comics' property, Greer did admit that the film is shaping up into something all fans can look forward to.

"Paul is so awesome and he's so great in this role," she said. "This has been my first comic hero that I've really researched and fallen for. I also think the Ant-Man origin story that we tell in our movie is really beautiful and I think there's something really real about a man trying to better himself for his family."

Greer will also make an appearance in "Tomorrowland" and "Jurassic World," making 2015 one of the biggest years in her career. Her most recent appearances were in "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" and the Academy-nominated "The Descendants."

"Ant-Man" is expected to drop in theaters this July 15, and it will officially end Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Greer will appear alongside Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michael Peña, and Bobby Cannavale.
